$10k RI Foundation Grants Open To Newport County Organizations
Applications for Newport County Fund grants, up to $10,000, are open until February 13.
NEWPORT, RI — Newport County nonprofits are encouraged to apply for more than $270,000 in grants from the Rhode Island Foundation's Newport County Fund. Each organization can apply for up to $10,000 in funding.
Applications will be accepting until Feb. 13. The grants can be used to develop new programs, expand existing ones or for municipal planning and leadership. Applications should be specific, addressing problem or opportunity, a strategic partnership or collaboration, innovation and measuring results.
"These funds focus on serving the distinct needs of the residents of these communities," said Adrian Bonéy of the Rhode Island Foundation. "Working with partners that have strong ties here gives us the resources and context to address local priorities."

The grants cannot be used to fund an individual or scholarship, medical research, debt repayments or for fundraising. Each grant is for one year only and is open to both religious and secular organizations.
The Newport County Fund has given more than $4 million in funding in Jamestown, Little Compton, Middletown, Newport, Portsmouth and Tiverton. The Jamestown Community Fund and the Jamestown Fund for the Performing Arts supplement the fund.

Previous grants recipients includ FabNewport, which received $8,000 for enrichment activities for underprivileged kids in Newport's North End, $10,000 to Child and Family in Middletown to pay for its Supportive Housing Program and $5,000 to Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice of Portsmouth for improved care for patients with depression, dementia, chronic medical conditions and more.
