3 Rhode Island Beach Communities Named Among The Best To Live

Personal finance website WalletHub compiled a list of the 145 best beach communities to live in across the country.

NEWPORT, RI — Three ocean beach communities in Rhode Island were named among the best in the country to live in, according to personal finance website WalletHub. Newport, Warwick and Westerly were included in the list of 145 best shoreside cities and towns.

The list was compiled based on several factors: quality of life, education and health, weather, safety, economy and affordability.

Naples, Florida came in first in the country, topping the list for quality of life and ranking well for affordability and economy.

David Fiorenza, an assistant professor at Villanova University, said there are several factors people should consider when looking to buy a beach property.

"[It] depends on a lot of factors that would include the size of family, income levels, how far do you want to travel to your beach property," Fiorenza said. "When you are at your beach property, do you want quiet, or do you want activities that are family or adult-oriented?"
