Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
1. Mary Grace Ilardi of Newport, was inducted into the Society of Women Engineers during ceremonies conducted by the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Vermont earlier this spring.
2. Jane McDurman was promoted to assistant vice president branch administrator and Theresa MacDaniel to training manager at People's Credit Union.Â

McDurman will direct and organize the operational and management activities of the Credit Union branch offices and the Member Service Center. She brings extensive experience in retail banking, audit and compliance, development and training of retail branch operational procedures and sales and marketing. Most recently she was employed as the vice president, Retail Operations at The Community Bank in Brockton, MA. She studied business administration and accounting at Bristol Community College.Â
MacDaniel will organize and direct the activities involved in the development, implementation and administration of all training and development programs at the Credit Union. She brings many years of banking and corporate training experience. Most recently she was employed as the operations manager for the Greater Cranston Chamber of Commerce. She studied accounting and business management at Burlington County Community College.Â

3. There is  an AIPC Bicycle Path Forum on Monday, June 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at  8-mile bike trail overlooking Narragansett Bay. A light dinner will be served. RSVP: Tina@aquidneckplanning.org.
4. Free admission to the Newport Art Museum on its birthday, Tuesday, June 12. Hours are: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be light refreshments as well as tours and activities for all ages throughout the day.
