After School Program at the MLK Community Center: REGISTER NOW!
Registration for After School at the MLK Community Center is now open: SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE so no family will be turned away.
The first day of the After School Program at the MLK Center is this Thursday, September 5th, the same day as the first day of Newport Public Schools. If your children aren't signed up yet, there is STILL TIME to register! Transportation from Pell to the Center is provided, as well as a nutritious snack. DHS is accepted, and scholarships are available for anyone in need of financial assistance.
The After School Program at the MLK includes:
- Homework help from certified, experienced educators
- Exploratory learning, choir, and violin lessons (all at no additional cost)
- Science, technology, engineering, math, and art activities
- Indoor and outdoor physical activities
- Nutritious snack served daily
- Family dinners & activities offered monthly
- Transportation from Pell to the Center, by Durham Bus
