RHODE ISLAND — Yet another round of winter weather is in the forecast for Rhode Island in the coming days, bringing the possibility of as much as eight inches of accumulation to parts of Southern New England.

Forecasters are calling it a "prolonged" storm that is expected to arrive Thursday afternoon and last until Friday night. It's unknown if the higher snow totals will be realized — forecasts are saying 4-8 inches — but the sleet and ice of this week's previous storm are not expected.

A winter storm watch will be in place from Thursday morning until Friday morning across all of Rhode Island, along with nearly all of Massachusetts and Connecticut.
