Ballard Park Presents Stargazing Program on Nov. 5

A stargazing program is set for the quarry meadow on Saturday.

NEWPORT, RI – Robert Horton, manager of Brown University' s Astronomical Laboratories, and telescope operator Scott MacNeill, of Brown University’s Ladd Observatory, are coming to Ballard Park on Saturday, Nov. 5.

They'll lead the star gazing program set for Saturday, Nov. 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The astronomers will bring their telescopes for up close viewings of stars, clusters, nebulae, galaxies and a crescent moon.

It's all happening in the quarry meadow. Use the Hazard Road entrance to access the event. Dress warmly and bring a comfy chair or blanket and a flashlight.

Ballard Park, Newport’s Only Nature Preserve, is located on the corner of Hazard and Wickham Roads.
