Ballard Park To Screen "Indiana Jones" For Free

Hum the classic theme song with your friends from your blankets on the lawn.

NEWPORT, RI — Our favorite snake-fearing archaeologist will swing his way into the Newport area when Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is projected onto a big screen in Ballard Park.

This is the 11th edition of Friends of Ballard Park’s weekly Movies On The Rocks summer film series, continuing this Wednesday with a free screening of the Last Crusade. A short film by Quentin Deleau entitled Chateau de Sable will be screened before the feature and was provided by Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival.

Ballard Park's quarry meadow will open to the public at 6:30 and prospective viewers are instructed to bring adequate footwear and a flashlight for navigating the terrain back out in the dark. Screenings typically begin at or around sundown, typically 8 to 8:15 p.m.
