Coast Guard Searching For Possible Person In Newport Harbor
U.S. Coast Guard Northeast tweeted Monday evening that rescue crews were out searching for a possible missing person.
NEWPORT, RI— The U.S. Coast Guard continues its search for a “possible person” in Newport Harbor that began Monday evening.
A Twitter post from the U.S. Coast Guard Northeast said that rescue crews from Castle Hill, Air Station Cape Cod, and the Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force were out searching the waters off of Newport.
After continuing to search throughout the night on Monday, the U.S. Cost Guard sent out a second Tweet Tuesday morning, announcing that Cutter Steelhead would be joined by a helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod for a first light search on Tuesday morning.
