Heat Index Near 100 On Last Day Of RI Heat Wave
The National Weather Service extended the heat advisory to much of the state for another day.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Island's days-long heat wave is finally drawing to a close. Just one more day of temperatures above 90 degrees is expected, with a return to more seasonable weather by the end of the week.
The National Weather Service issued another heat advisory for northern and central Rhode Island on Wednesday, with the heat index expected to reach 97 degrees in Providence. The advisory will be in effect from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
If you're headed to the beach on Wednesday, isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon, from about 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Expect cooler temperatures to close out the week, with a high of 80 degrees on Thursday, followed by 70 degrees on Friday. The weekend should be mostly sunny, with temperatures in the 70s.
