High Wind Warning In Rhode Island; Gusts Could Reach 50 MPH

A high wind advisory was declared across Rhode Island Friday, with wind gusts up to 50 mph possible statewide. Following a day of chilly rain, temperatures will climb to nearly 70 degrees, with the possibility of a pop-up shower in the late morning.

The wind advisory will be in place from noon Friday until 2 a.m. Saturday. Wind gusts are expected to reach 45 to 50 mph, with slightly weaker gusts along the southern coast and in the East Bay.

Expect partly sunny skies throughout the day Friday, with temperatures expected to reach about 68 degrees. There's the chance of a shower around 11 a.m., with more rain expected to move in after midnight.

Sunshine and slightly cooler temperatures will return Saturday, with rain back in the forecast both Saturday and Sunday night.
