Icy Winter Storm Could Put The Freeze On Rhode Island
The first of potentially two storms this week won't bring much snow, instead sleet and freezing rain.

RHODE ISLAND — The first of what looks to be two winter storms this week will cover much of Southern New England in a thin sheet of ice overnight.
Snow and sleet will begin late Monday afternoon or early evening. The icy precipitation will turn into freezing rain overnight as temperatures hover right around 32 degrees. Little to no snow accumulation is expected, but slick roads could greet many Tuesday morning.
The icy conditions prompted the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory for the state from 7 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
