Menstrual Hygiene Drive at Newport County YMCA

PERIOD. @ Rhode Island is collecting menstrual products for the Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center in Newport, RI.

PERIOD is a national youth-led nonprofit organization that strives to fight gender inequality and period poverty through advocacy, education, and engagement.

The Rhode Island chapter is a group of students ages 12-15 that is working to ensure that every menstruating Rhode Islander has access to high-quality menstrual hygiene and inclusive and empowering sex-education.
We are collecting menstrual products because 1 in 8 Rhode Islanders cannot afford basic necessities (Providence Journal, 2017).

Our chapter is collecting all sizes of:
Pads
Tampons
Pantiliners
Menstrual underwear
Menstrual cups

**Unopened boxes of menstrual products will be collected at the Newport County YMCA in the red bin on the second floor.**
