More Charges Against Alleged Jamestown Burglars: Newport Police

Newport police have charged the two men arrested on Monday in connection with a July 23 housebreak on Castle Hill Avenue.

NEWPORT, RI — The two men Jamestown police caught on Monday are suspected of other housebreaks in Rhode Island and in Massachusetts. Now, Newport police have charged the same two men arrested on Monday in connection with a July 23 housebreak on Castle Hill Avenue.

Thomas Pleau, 43, of Woonsocket, was charged with two felonies — Breaking and Entering (Dwelling House Without the owner's consent) and Conspiracy to commit Breaking and Entering with felonious intent.

John T. Young, 26, of Providence, was charged with Conspiracy to commit Breaking and Entering with felonious intent.

The Castle Hill housebreak happened around 2:16 p.m. Jamestown police said the Sutton, Mass., police saw a connection with break-in in Rhode Island and Massachusetts that happened in broad daylight.

The investigation is ongoing. More charges could follow.
