NEWPORT, RI – Newport-area elementary schoolers have the opportunity to be a part of a free chorus program in May. The program, open to kids in second through fourth grade, is sponsored by the Newport County Youth Chorus. No prior experience or audition is required to take part.

The six-week program, called "All That Jazz: Broadway Showtunes," will allow kids to explore the music and dance of Broadway shows through timeless classics.

Parents can choose a day and location that works best for them from two options. The first runs from April 30 until June 5 from 3:30 p.m. until 4 :30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoons at the Martin Luther King Center on Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard in Newport, while the second will run from May 1 until June 6 on Wednesday evenings from 4:30 p.m. until 5 :30 p.m. at St. Mary's Church on East Main Road in Portsmouth. A final performance will be held on Saturday, June 1.
