Newport Company Named to Inc. Magazine Fastest Growing Private Company List

Inc. Magazine has come out with its 2012 list of the fastest growing private companies in the United States. Sixteen Rhode Island companies made the list, including Drupal Connect, an IT services company in Newport.

According to Inc. Magazine, they started its 500/5000 list back in 1982. It ranks privately-owned companies across all industries according to percentage revenue growth over a three-year period.

Drupal Connect came in at number 266, making it the second fastest growing private company in Rhode Island and the fastest growing private company in Newport. Cranston-based Alex and Ani came in at number 246.

John Florez founded Drupal Connect in January of 2009. Drupal, an open-source solution to web application development, allows software developers to create dynamic web applications in less time, which means a lower cost for the end client.

Another Newport Company, Embrace Home Loans, a financial services business came in at number 2628.
