Newport County Beach Passes for Summer 2013

Everything you need to know about buying beach passes across Newport County during the summer of 2013.

With beach season right around the corner, whether you're a tourist, summer person or year-round resident, now's the time to get your parking passes and head to the coast.

From Newport to Little Compton, the East Bay has some of the sandiest and most popular beaches on the south shore. Don't miss out on fun in the sun this summer, beach passes are available in most towns now.

As parking fees climb, frequent beach goers can always look forward to saving a few dollars by purchasing seasonal passes.

Newport:

For beach parking at Easton's Beach - better known as First Beach by the locals - rates vary depending on residency and age.

  • Newport Resident - $40.00, Senior: $25.00.
  • Non-Resident - $80.00, Senior: $45.00.
  • Reserved Parking (limited availability) - $95.00 Newport residents, and $135.00 for Non-Residents - call the Beach Office at 849-8430 for more information.
  • Daily Parking - $10 on weekdays; $20 on weekends.

Easton's Beach Stickers can be purchased at the Tax Collection office, located at 43 Broadway, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday (except holidays)

Easton's Beach Stickers will be available at the Easton's Beach office, 175 Memorial Blvd., on weekends only starting Memorial Day Weekend. Starting the 3rd week of June, stickers can be purchased daily at the beach office. Applicants must present vehicle registration and proof of residency.

Easton's Beach also rents bath houses and its facilities include bathrooms, a snack bar and changing facilities.

Middletown:

Parking stickers will be available for purchase daily from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. beginning on May 25 at the gazebo near the main gate to Sachuest Beach - or Second Beach - (at the intersection of Hanging Rocks Road and Sachuest Point Road).

Third Beach - a calmer waterfront more popular with young families employs the same fee structure as Sachuest Beach.

  • Resident - $70
  • Senior Resident - $65
  • Non-resident - $140
  • Senior Non-resident - $130
  • Resident Motorcycle - $30
  • Non-resident Motorcycle - $60
  • Daily Weekday - $10
  • Daily Weekend/Holiday - $20
  • Daily Motorcycle - $10

Second Beach's facilities include bathrooms, a snack bar and changing facilities.

Portsmouth:

Parking at Portsmouth's Sandy Point Beach is free for town residents with either a current transfer station sticker or a free sticker provided upon proof of residency by the Town Clerk's office, located at 2200 East Main Road.

Non-residents will be charged seasonally or per visit.

  • Non-resident daily pass - $7
  • Non-resident weekend pass - $12
  • Non-resident season pass - $50

Teddy's State Beach in Island Park is free and open to the public.

Tiverton:

Tiverton's two town-owned beaches, Fogland Beach in south Tiverton and Grinnell's Beach by the old Stone Bridge on Main Road Road, each employ lifeguards throughout the summer and encourage fishing, hiking, walking, wildlife, and nature observation. Both beach facilities provide toilets, trash, picnic tables and benches.

  • Daily Parking Fee: $5 
  • Weekend Parking Fee: $10
  • Season Parking Fee: $65

Little Compton:

Little Compton's 1,300-foot shoreline is a favorite of families and surfers alike. South Shore Beach is secluded, but rocky. 

  • Daily Parking Fee - $12
  • Weekend Parking Fee - $15

Be prepared to pay fees between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily Memorial Day through Labor Day.
