Newport Fourth Of July Fireworks 2017

Here's what you need to know about the Fourth of July fireworks in Newport.

NEWPORT, RI – July is closer than you think. Newport is holding its Independence Day fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. on July 4. The best place to see the show is along Newport Harbor facing west. (Ground zero is near Wellington Avenue and Washington Street.) The rain date is July 5 at 9:15 p.m. The city fireworks are free.

And Rose Island Lighthouse is also holding its annual barbecue July 4 and suggesting people consider watching the spectacle off shore. The barbecue is being held rain or shine and costs $90 per person, which includes the ride to Rose Island and back ($80 for Lighthouse members, $35 for children ages 6 - 12, Children 5 and under are free).

If you also want a preview show for free, Jamestown is shooting off fireworks from a barge in East Ferry on July 2 at 9 p.m. The location is East Ferry Beach on Canonicus Avenue. There's no rain date. Click here for details.
