The city is looking for lifeguards, playground leaders, tennis instructors and more.
NEWPORT, RI — The City of Newport is hiring for the summer 2021 season. Both part-time and full-time positions are available.
The city is looking to hire for the following positions:
- Lifeguards
- Laborers
- Harbormaster assistants
- Playground leaders
- Tennis instructors
- Traffic aides
Hourly wages range from $11.50 to $22 per hour, depending on the position and experience.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Newport City Hall is closed to the public. Applications can be downloaded from the city's website and submitted via email to HR@cityofnewport.com or by mail to the city hall, care of human resources department. Applicants can also drop off their completed forms in the gray drop-box at the side entrance of City Hall, on Bull Street. Envelopes should be labeled "c/o Human Resources."
