Newport Hosting Free St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt
All kids who participate will be given a small prize at the end of their search for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
NEWPORT, RI — With the coronavirus pandemic again curtailing St. Patrick's Day celebrations in 2021, Newport is getting creative with this year's celebration. The city is sponsoring a St. Patrick's Day scavenger hunt, which encourages families to get outside.
The scavenger hunt, sponsored by Newport Recreation, kicks off at 1 p.m. Saturday. The hunt will be held at Aquidneck Park Playground, and participants can arrive any time from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Clues will be hidden around the park, with a pot of gold waiting at the end of the hunt. All clues will be within walking distance of The Hut, and all kids who participate will be given a small pirxe at the end.
