Newport Man Crashes into 3 Parked Cars, Charged with DUI

The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

William Morales, 26, of 1 Weaver Ave. Apt. B, Newport, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 2:05 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence - first offense, BAC .15 or greater, and driving with a suspended license.

Police stopped Morales' SUV after a reports of of a hit and run of three parked cars on Rhode Island Avenue. A witness reported watching a white SUV cuase the damage. Police then saw Morales' SUV traveling on Memorial Boulevard with a headlight out and traveling low on the passenger's side. After stopping Morales, police saw that  that a passenger's side directional was missing as well as a small piece of the body. Police noted a strong smell of alcohol on MOrales and he submitted to a field sobriety test,which he failed. At the police headquarters Morales registered a .176 and .167 on the blood-analyzer test. He will be arraigned in Second Division District Court at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 8:30 a.m.

Meaghan N. Woolhouse, 22, of 1 Willow St. Apt. 1, Newport, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 11:16 p.m. and charged on a Second Division District Court bench warrant. She will be arraigned in court on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 8:30 a.m.

A 14-year-old Harwinton, CT boy was arrested on on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 10:20 p.m. and charged with shoplifting - a misdemeanor, after he allegedly stole a whoopee cushion from the Music Box on Thames Street. The whoopee cushion was valued at $2.25. The matter was referred to the juvenile division.

Joseph Russell Cote, 41, of 15 Meeting St., Newport, was arrested on Aug. 14 at 12:38 a.m. and charged with simple assault after police broke up a fight on Pond Aveneu near Equality Park. Cote will be arraignned on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

Olivia Jones, 30, of 43 West Evans St., Newport, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 11:05 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct after she allegedly began screaming, swearing, and yelling at the management at the Newport Heights Office. She will be arraigned in Second Division District Court on Aug. 28 at 8:30 a.m.

William Dusty Rhodes, 41, of 212 East Main St. Apt. 2, Fall River, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 12 at 6:17 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and drinking alcohol in public after police were dispatched to Island Cemetery for a report of several men drinking on a gravesite. Rhodes was reportedly aggressive toward police during his arrest. He was arraigned on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 8:30 a.m.

Brett James Mrozowski, 27, of 25 Spouting Rock Drive, Newport, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 1:24 a.m. and charged him with urinating in public. Police allegedly saw Mrozowski urinating on the ramp of the Post Office at the corner of Thames and America's Cup. He was released on scene with a summons for a court date of Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. 

Rachel Siobhan Kilroy, 32, of 5 Grant Court, Newport, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 12 at 4:27 p.m. and charged with felony drug possession and also charged on a Second Division District Court bench warrant. Kilroy is known to police and officers knew she had a warrant when they saw her walking on Broadway. Police stopped her and during questioning observed a small plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance in her hand. She was arrested and later admitted to police that the bag contained cocaine. 

Tiffany Lorraine Walaski, 34, of 86 Bliss Road Apt. 1, Newport, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 12 at 12:15 p.m. and charged with vandalism after she allegedly punched a hole in the sheetrock wall at CODAC. The damage is estimated to cost $25 to repair. She was released on a summons for arraignment in district court on Aug. 28 at 8:30 a.m.
