Newport Police Announce Schedule, Routes For Santa's Nightly Ride

NEWPORT, RI — Santa Claus will be making several visits to Newport in the coming weeks, allowing families to catch a glimpse of St. Nick ahead of Christmas Eve. "Santa's Nightly Rides" will happen this Tuesday and Thursday, as well as Dec. 15 and 17.

Tuesday's ride will start in the Kerry Hill/Van Zandt neighborhoods, before heading to West Side Broadway and ending in the North End at Newport Police Station Two. To track his progress, follow along using the GYMPSE Santa tracker app.

Thursday's ride will include part of Broadway's East Side, followed by the Kay and Catherine neighborhood, Eustis and Easton's Pond, the second part of Broadway's East Side and ending in Old Beach.

The following week, Dec. 15's ride will start near Fort Adams before heading to the Fifth Ward.

On the final night, Santa's ride will start in the North End Commercial district, before heading to The Point, Historic Hill, Memorial Boulevard and Bellevue Avenue Estates.
