Newport Police Arrest Teen Accused Of Throwing Glass In The Road

The 16-year-old boy allegedly was hiding in yards near Maple and Girard avenues and throwing glass when cars went by.

NEWPORT, RI —A 16-year-old Newport teen was arrested at 10:15 p.m. Monday after police received a complaint about someone throwing glass at passing cars. Officers went to the area near Maple and Girard avenues, and investigated.

Police said they saw a boy hiding in nearby yards and throwing glass at the cars. He was charged with willful breaking of glass on the roadway and given a summons for Family Court. His name is not being released because of his age.
