Newport Police Log: June 24-25

NEWPORT, RI — Here are recent arrests and citations. Information comes from the police log.

June 24

Connor Hayes, 22, of Weymouth, Mass., was arrested at 1:20 a.m. at the Gas Lamp Grille. Police said they had been called for an "unwanted patron." He was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Simple Assault and Battery. He is due in court on June 27.

Constantine McKeon, 20, of Newport, was cited at 2:56 a.m. for marijuana possession (1 oz or less by a person 17 or older). A resident had called police to complain about a car with the interior light on. The car was parked at Spouting Rock Drive and Coggeshall Avenue.

June 25

Ingrid Y. Pena Tejada, 53, of Newport, was arrested at 8:16 a.m. She was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting and felony Shoplifting implements of concealment in connection with an incident that allegedly happened May 30 at 5:24 p.m. Police said the Walmart on Connell Highway had made a complaint.
