Newport Tennis Tournament Rescheduled Due To Inclement Weather
Due to forecasted rain, the Men's and Women's Singles Open has been rescheduled to September 14.
NEWPORT, RI — With rain and strong wind in the weekend forecast, Newport Recreation has decided to schedule its annual Men’s and Women’s Singles Open tournament until next weekend. The annual competition was set to kick off on Saturday.
"With the likelihood of inclement weather over the weekend, Newport Recreation has decided to postpone its annual Men’s and Women’s Singles Open until Saturday, Sept. 14," the organization wrote in a release.
The competition will be held at the Pop Flack Tennis Courts in Aquidneck Park, starting at 10 a.m. More information about the tournament is available on the City of Newport's website or by calling The Hut at 401-845-5800.
