Rhode Island Weather: Exceptionally Strong Winds, Low Temperatures on Deck

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory in advance of tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for all of Rhode Island, warning of howling winds with gusts up to 45 miles per hour and the possibility of downed tree limbs and power lines, with associated power outages.

The wind advisory will be in effect from 8 p.m. Saturday - 2 p.m. Sunday.

It won't be pleasant. Rain is expected on and off throughout the day, with the potential for scattered thunderstorms. At the windiest points late tonight, temperatures may feel close to freezing.

The strong winds could strip the trees of much of their remaining leaves.
