Rhode Island Weather Forecast: Nor'easter Thursday, 8-12 Inches of Snow
A Winter Storm Watch is already issued for Wednesday-Thursday. All of a sudden it looks like "heavy snow" will be the story of the day.

Well, that developed rather quickly. A slushy Tuesday followed by an abnormally warm Wednesday will give way to a nor'easter, burying Rhode Island in potentially more than a foot of snow.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch that will be in effect from Wednesday night through late Thursday night.
The NWS is warning of "heavy snow," 8-12 inches across most of New England.

Wednesday's temperatures are still expected to get into the 60s - about a 30-plus-degree swing from the days before and after - and will see rain across the region.
But Thursday will be the big one, forecasters are saying. It was initially expected we'd see just a skirting of a storm system, but that's no longer the case.
There will also be winds from 20-30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45.
A Winter Storm Watch is issued when there is "potential for significant snow ... sleet ... or ice accumulations that may impact travel."
