Rhode Island's Average Gas Price Falls By A Penny
Prices once again started a downward slide over the past week.

Following a slight spike last week, Rhode Island gas prices are once again on the decline. In the past week, the average cost of gas went down one penny, bringing it to $2.50, AAA Northeast reported.
Rhode Island's national average is currently 15 cents lower than the national average of $2.65. This time last year, prices were considerably higher at an average of $2.84, 34 cents higher than the current price.
"Crude oil prices have dropped not far above where they were before the drone attack on Saudi oil facilities just over two weeks ago," said Lloyd Albert, AAA Northeast senior vice President of public and government affairs. "This is helping to push gas prices cheaper in most of the country and motorists in the northeast can expect this trend to continue."
