RI Thanksgiving Traffic: Bridge Construction Tuesday

The state Turnpike and Bridge Authority is telling drivers to plan ahead for lane closures through 3 p.m. Tuesday.

TIVERTON, RI —The state Turnpike and Bridge Authority is telling drivers to plan ahead for lane closures through 3 p.m. Tuesday. With Tuesday expected to be possibly the heaviest travel day during the Thanksgiving Day week, only the Mount Hope Bridge (between Bristol and Portsmouth) and the Route 138 Connector (between the Jamestown and Newport bridges) won't have crews at work on them.

These are only the bridges operated by RITBA. Please check the state Department of Transportation for information about other bridge projects.

Newport Pell Bridge

Westbound Right Lane Closed from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge

Eastbound Alternating Lanes Closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sakonnet River Bridge

Southbound Right Shoulder Closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Northbound Right Shoulder Closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
