RI Weather Forecast: Up to a Foot of Snow Expected Saturday
A winter storm warning has been issued for most of the day.
A winter storm warning has been issued for Saturday in Rhode Island.
The warning, in effect from 7 a.m. Saturday - 1 a.m. Sunday, is for a snowstorm expected to dump 4-12 inches across the state.
The snow is expected to start in the morning and intensify in the afternoon and early evening. Newport could get up to a foot, while about 6-8 inches is being called for in the rest of the state. See the anticipated totals below, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

The NWS is also warning of very limited visibility, with wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour whipping the snow around.
