RI Weather: Wind Advisory In Ahead Of Strong Gusts

NEWPORT, RI — Rhode Island is in for a windy night, following an overcast, rainy day. The National Weather Service announced a wind advisory for the entire state, from 4 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Wind gusts could reach 50 mph across much of the state, particularly coastal areas. The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency encouraged residents to stow or secure any loose outdoor items, and to keep electronic devices charged in case of an outage.
