RIDOT To Hold Information Session About Pell Bridge Realignment
The information session will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 in the Second-Floor City Council Chambers at the City Hall.

NEWPORT, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is hosting an informational meeting about the future of the Pell Bridge realignment project and review the proposed design. All are welcome to attend the meeting, which will be open to the public.
The information session will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 in the Second-Floor City Council Chambers at the City Hall.
Anyone unable to attend the meeting can review the design online or in-person at the Newport Public Library, Florence Gray Center or the Planning ans Economic Office at City Hall.

The department will accept public comment on the project until Dec. 23. Comments can be submitted online or via mail to Division Administrator, Federal Highway Administration, 380 Westminster St. Suite 601, Providence, R.I. 02903.
Newport representative Lauren Carson urged residents to weigh in on the design, saying it is "probably the single biggest redevelopment projects on Aquidneck Island in the last 50 years."

"This has an impact on everyone in Newport, so I urge everyone to look at the plans and send the state their thoughts. Now is the time to make your opinion heard," Carson said.
