Rogers High To Open Thursday But Bring Your Own Water: Schools
The high school and the Career and Technical Center will re-open Thursday, but the water is "not recommended" for drinking.

NEWPORT, RI — Rogers High and the Career and Technical Center will re-open on Thursday, the school department said. The schools closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, due to a water main break and subsequent work installing a temporary water system. According to the schools, the water is safe for hand-washing but is not recommended for drinking. Therefore, students and staff are encouraged to bring bottles of water to school.
The food service will boil water for cooking per state health department guidelines.
The food service, Chartwells, and Coca-Cola Bottling of Southeastern New England will donate bottled water for classes on Thursday and Friday, the school department said.

Work has started on a new water system, the school department said.
