WEATHER UPDATE: Parts of Rhode Island Under Tornado Watch

With high humidity and storms moving eastward after pummeling parts of the midwest Monday, things could get rough for our area.

UPDATE: The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 11 p.m. Tuesday for the following counties: Bristol, Kent, Providence, Newport and Washington.

Heavy storms that ripped through parts of the midwest Monday are moving eastward, and that could make for some rough weather for all of Rhode Island.

With so much humidity enveloping the area, the forecast has been a bit all over the place Tuesday morning, but here’s the latest:

Noon: Temps holding steady at 74 degrees with wind and clouds; dry

3 p.m.: Chances of showers increase to 25%

6 p.m.: We’re looking at a 60% chance of thunderstorms over the area, which should scatter until about 10 p.m.

10 p.m.: Thunderstorms over but still a slight chance of rain. One thing for sure: It’ll be horribly humid. The skies stay dry overnight and the clouds hang around.

WEDNESDAY: Rise and shine and enjoy a gorgeous day. Sunny, warm and not-ridiculous humidity.
