Sidewalk Work To Get Underway In Newport's Historic Hill

Residents are asked to clear the sidewalks and cut back plants before construction begins.

NEWPORT, RI — Construction on the sidewalks in Newport's Historic Hill Neighborhood will get underway on Monday. Residents near the construction areas are asked to clear the sidewalks before work begins.

The project will repair and repave the sidewalks along High, School and Division Streets. Crews will start on High Street before making their way to School Street, then Division Street.

Residents on these roads are asked to clear anything they own off of the sidewalks before construction begins and to cut back overhanging plants. While homes will still be accessible during construction, people who live in the area should expect inconveniences. Parking is expected to be limited during the week, from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.
