Two Charged After Fight At Long Wharf Mall Early Tuesday: Police

NEWPORT, RI—Police broke up a fight on Long Wharf Mall minutes after midnight Tuesday. According to the narrative, two men broke the glass window at the "Only in Rhode Island" store and were arrested. Cody Richard Williams, 27, of Newport, was charged at 12:18 a.m. with disorderly conduct (fighting) and vandalism. He was also cited for marijuana possession (1 oz. or less). Williams was held overnight for arraignment Tuesday in district court.

Jack L. Scuilla, of Bristol, was taken to Newport Hospital for his injuries and released. Police gave him a summons at 3:58 a.m. for a future court appearance. He was charged with disorderly conduct (fighting) and vandalism.
