Volunteers Needed To Break Down 'Boots On The Ground' Display
The display was left up for an extra day due to inclement weather.

NEWPORT, RI — Operation Stand Down Rhode Island is looking for volunteers to help break down this year's Boots on the Ground Memorial at Fort Adams State Park in Newport. The display was left up for an extra day due to inclement weather.
Instead of breaking down the display Tuesday, as is customary, the organization left the display of more than 7,000 boots up until Wednesday, to allow the boots to dry out after a rainy Memorial Day weekend.
The organization sets up the display every year in memory of servicemen and women who lost their lives in the War on Terror. It is open from Friday to Monday each Memorial Day weekend.
