Welfare, Food Stamp Fraud: RI Police Arrest 24
Five of the accused were arrested in Newport on Tuesday, state police said.

NEWPORT, RI—Five Newporters are among 24 Rhode Islanders accused of being welfare or food stamp cheats. State police said the arrests were made Tuesday. Detectives investigated allegations from the state Department of Administration’s Office of Internal Audit – Fraud Detection and Prevention Unit. The state claimed $48,966.12 had been stolen in unauthorized Electronic Benefit Funds.
The arrested are:
Sandra Hernandez, 35, of Newport, was charged with Obtaining Money False Pretenses, Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Perjury.

Madaley Lopez, 29, of Central Falls, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance, Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps and Conspiracy.
Janely Lopez, 27, of Central Falls, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance, Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps and Conspiracy.

Kimberly Turnage, 41, of Newport, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance, Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps and Conspiracy.
Frank Turnage, 49, of Newport, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance, Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps and Conspiracy.
Aileen Ramos, 38, of North Smithfield was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance, Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps and Conspiracy.
Taylor Rego, 23, of Johnston, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance, Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps and Conspiracy.
Danielle Orsini, 25, of Johnston, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance, Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps and Conspiracy.
Jessica Blinn, 35, of Newport, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Maryann Lovenbury, 61, of Cranston, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Alba Gonzalez, 39, of Providence, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Karen Delgizzo, 55, of North Providence, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance, Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps and Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses.
Jeannette Robinson, 57, of Hope Valley, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Sandra Greene, 51, of Pawtucket, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Crystal Gervais, 38, of Cranston, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Anthony Lovell, 59, of Providence, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Alicia Moore, 28, of Pawtucket, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Mollie Lassiter, 53, of Providence, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Gloria Tiberi, 55, of Coventry, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps (two counts).
Michelle Nelson, 40, of Warwick, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Deseri Watts, 36, of Hopkinton, Mass., was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Kevin Smith, 55, of Warwick, was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance and Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
Sandra Wilson, 59, of Newport, was charged with Filing False Documents.
Anne Earnhart, 24, of Providence, was charged with Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps.
They faced a judge for their district court arraignments Tuesday.
