Man Shot And Injured In North Providence

Police were called to 25 Winona St. at around 2 a.m. on June 17.

NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI — A 48-year-old man was was shot in the chest early Thursday and rushed to Rhode Island Hospital.

Officers were called to 25 Winona St. at around 2 a.m. where the victim and his girlfriend told officers that two people had kicked in their door and shot the man, according to Police Chief Col. Alfredo Ruggiero Jr.

The man was reported in stable condition Thursday morning. Ruggiero said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident. He said he expects to reveal more information later today.
