- The victim of a fatal Pawtucket shooting was a former football star at Sacred Heart University. Keshaudas Spence, 29, was one of the greatest to ever wear the SHU jersey, his former coach said. Spence, of Brockton, was found shot inside a car early Saturday on George Bennett Industrial Highway. Melanie DaSilva at WPRI has the story.
- Pawtucket police officer Daniel Dolan Jr. has been on leave since since June 23, when he accosted three teens and shot the driver outside a West Greenwich pizza shop. Now Atty. James B. Howe says he has evidence that Dolan was involved in “other brutal and violent arrests.” Pawtucket Councilwoman Melissa DaRosa said that she previously fielded complaints about Dolan from people in the community. - Palagis Ice Cream is celebrating 125 years and opening a new location on Bacon Street near McCoy Stadium. "They have 21 ice cream trucks that go out daily between April and October." (WJAR)

- Crugnale Bakery is closing its locations in Rumford and Providence. "The bakery, which first opened in 1917, was best known for its pizza strips." (GoLocalProv)
