PAWTUCKET, RI — The city last week closed its COVID-19 vaccination clinic at St. Anthony’s Parish Center, but residents can still get the shot at McCoy Stadium on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The Office of Mayor Donald Grebien announced the change today and said the city has made significant progress in fighting the virus. Since February 20, Pawtucket-based clinics have administered 12,579 doses of the vaccine. Last week the city saw 99 new cases per 100,000, the lowest rate since last September.

“We are now down to a 2.9% positivity rate,” stated Public Health and Equity Leader Elizabeth Moreira. She said nearly 48 percent of people in the city have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and said that momentum must continue.
