Pawtucket Fireworks Set For July 3 At McCoy Stadium
The stadium itself will be closed to the public, but people will be able to observe the fireworks from across the city.
PAWTUCKET, RI — The City of Pawtucket will host its Independence Day fireworks celebration at McCoy Stadium on July 3 at 9 p.m. — but things will be structured a little bit differently this year, the Office of Mayor Donald Grebien announced.
Obviously, there will be no baseball game this year. Plus, the stadium itself will be closed to the public. Atlas PyroVision will set off fireworks the inside the stadium, and people all across the city will be able to view them. In case of bad weather, the rain date is Monday, July 5.
“I want to thank the Council and all of the residents who have reached out about this event,” said Grebien. “We know it is a crowd favorite and, now that restrictions are lifting, are happy to have celebrations once again.”

Grebien said because of the pandemic, the community has gone without popular events that bring people together. “We hope that the continuation of this longstanding tradition will help to bring a sense of normalcy and Pawtucket pride to the community that everyone can enjoy,”the mayor said.
