Pawtucket Man Indicted In Johnston Shooting
Deven Guernon, 24, faces a litany of serious charges.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Pawtucket man has been indicted in connection with a Jan. 10 burglary and shooting in the town of Johnston.
A statewide grand jury on June 16 returned an indictment charging Deven Guernon, 24, with assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling with the intent to rob, burglary, first-degree robbery, discharging a firearm when committing a crime of violence resulting in injury, possession of a pistol without a license, conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling with the intent to rob, conspiracy to commit a burglary, conspiracy to commit a robbery, conspiracy to discharge a firearm during crimes of violence, and conspiracy to possess a pistol without a license.
It was previously reported that Johnston police were investigating a shooting on Jan. 10 that left one man shot in the leg. The shooting followed an altercation involving several people, police said at the time. The shooting occurred in the area of Atwood Avenue and Rotary Drive.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on June 30, 2021, in Providence County Superior Court. The Johnston Police Department conducted the investigation. Patch has reached out to Johnston police seeking more information.

Guernon is also the subject open cases out of West Warwick and Pawtucket where he is charged with a litany of serious crimes, Rhode Island judicial records show.
