Pawtucket Teens Attack Litter For Earth Day
Kids from Shea, Tolman, and Davies picked up trash downtown and circled back for an outdoor lunch with Mayor Don Grebien.

PAWTUCKET, RI — Students at three city high schools celebrated Earth Day by picking up litter.
Juniors and seniors at Shea High School, Tolman High School and Davies Jr. Career and Technical High School donned protective gear and collected many big bags of trash along the bike path and beyond. They then circled back to City Hall for an outdoor lunch and discussion about the environment with Mayor Donald Grebien.
The city partnered in the event with the Pawtucket Youth Commission and Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful.

"It was a fantastic opportunity to teach the students and take part in our statewide campaign #RIMillionPieces," said Donna Kaehler, director of the Blackstone Valley group. "We are asking each resident to pick up one piece of litter, and with 1 million residents, we easily remove 1 million pieces of litter from our communities."
