Update: Woman Shot On Japonica Street In Pawtucket Dies
The victim, age 19, succumbed to her injuries following a Sunday night shooting. A homicide investigation is underway.

PAWTUCKET, RI — A young woman who was was shot Sunday night in Pawtucket has died.
Pawtucket police responded to Japonica Street around 11:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired and found a female gunshot victim. The woman, 19, was rushed to an area hospital where she was initially listed in critical condition. The woman has since succumbed to her injuries, Detective Sgt. Theodore Georgitsis in an updated news release on Monday.

Detectives from the Major Crime Unit and the Rhode Island Bureau of Criminal Investigation are investigating the matter as a homicide.
