Alleged Abuser Faces Third Domestic Assault Charge

A 32-year-old Tiverton man is facing felony charges after an alleged third domestic simple assault chage.
Kevin Dias, 32, of 19 Mill St., Tiverton, was arrested on Saturday, June 22 at 4:35 p.m. after he allegedly threw his girlfriend into furniture and to the ground during an argument.
The victim told police that the pair began arguing after a day a the beach. The victim told police Dias had made inappropriate gestures and statements to the woman's daughter. As she confronted him at the Mill Street home about the incident, Dias allegedly turned violent, picking her up by her arms and throwing her into dresser. Dias allegedly threw her to the ground several times. Police noted a cut on the victim's foot, and red marks on her arm and shoulder that were consistant with the victim's story.
Dias was charged with domestic simple assault - all third- offense domestic assault charges are felonies.
