TIVERTON-LITTLE COMPTON, RI — This July 4 will be a lot different from years past, with fireworks displays and community celebrations around the state canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, the holiday falls on a Saturday, meaning many industries will be observing the day before.
Here's a look at what's open and closed on the Independence Day, and, where noted, on Friday.
- Retail stores: Open at owner's discretion.
- Liquor stores: Open.
- Supermarkets: Open.
- Convenience stores: Open.
- Restaurants: Open at owner's discretion.
- Banks: Closed.
- Stock market: Closed Friday.
- Municipal, state, federal offices: Most are closed on Friday, check town websites for more information.
- Libraries: Closed.
- Mail: Post offices closed Saturday, regular delivery Friday.
- Trash Collection: Tiverton landfill closed Saturday.
