Little Compton Police To Resume VIN Checks May 26

The department will begin offering VIN checks again, with social distancing requirements in place.

LITTLE COMPTON, RI — Starting next week, Little Compton police will again offer VIN checks. Service will be available during the week, by appointment only.

The department will begin the service again May 26. Appointments will be offered Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents are asked not to arrive early for appointments and to wait in their vehicle until their appointment time. Call 401-635-2311 to speak to the dispatcher, who will give further instructions.

Face masks must be worn during appointments, and residents must bring their own pen to fill out paperwork. VIN checks now cost $20 for non-residents and $15 for Little Compton residents. The department accepts cash, check or money order, made out to the Town of Little Compton, as payment.

Anyone who has any symptoms of illness is asked to reschedule their appointment once they are well.
