Man Shoots Wife In Neck While Cleaning Gun: Report
The man was cleaning his .45-caliber handgun when it accidentally went off, a report says. Police say he was drunk at the time.

TIVERTON, RI — A Tiverton man was arrested after shooting his wife in the neck, according to a report. James Bradley, 35, of Allen Street, was cleaning his Smith and Wesson Saturday evening when it accidentally fired, he told police.
His wife, who had recovered enough to speak with investigators at the hospital, told them it was an accident, according to the Providence Journal.
Police responded to the wife's call and went into their home soon after 7 p.m., the Journal report said. They confiscated the gun and searched the house.

Bradley was cooperative with police and surrendered himself. Police say he was intoxicated at the time, the report says, and he was charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
He was released that evening on bail.
