One Dead In Tiverton Fire: Report
The victim was rescued from the house and rushed to the hospital, the Tiverton Fire Department said.
TIVERTON, RI — One person was rescued from a house fire in Tiverton Monday evening, according to the town's fire department.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they later died, WJAR reported.
The fire happened at a house on Church Pond Drive around 5 p.m., Tiverton fire said. Large flames filled the living room as crews searched for the occupant, who was trapped inside.

It took about an hour to get the flames under control, with crews called in from Fall River, Portsmouth, Little Compton, Westport, Middletown and Bristol to assist. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
