'Operation Blue Santa' Helps Tiverton Families In Need
The Tiverton Police Department is looking for nominations of families in need of a little extra holiday magic this year.

TIVERTON, RI — The Tiverton Police Department hopes to help local families in need have a special holiday season this year, despite hardships caused by the coronavirus pandemic. "Blue Santa" will be making rounds in the town, and families can nominate themselves or a neighbor in need to request assistance.
To nominate themselves or someone they know, residents can send an email with the subject line "operation blue santa" to Sergeant John LeDuc at jleduc@tivertonpoliceri.com. Submissions should include as much information about the family in question as possible, such as children's ages and gift interests, to help the department plan.
"Needless to say 2020 has been a year of many hardships," the department said. "Please don't hesitate sending in requests for your family, or your neighbor's experiencing difficulty this time of year."
